Shelli Dillon

My business idea started after 20 years of service with the Department of Education as a Special Education Teacher. I went on medical leave in 2019 after losing my mother and being diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety. I was born with Sickle-Cell/Beta Thalassemia Disease, a degenerative blood disorder that comes with many health complications of its own. 

During the pandemic, I developed COVID three times in the next two years. My health continued to decline as I battled with the stresses of returning to the classroom post-COVID. I was eventually forced to leave the classroom after taking a slew of medical leaves that forced me into permanent disability. In search of another source of income that would allow me to provide for two teenage children but give me the freedom to care for my health, I turned to a personal hobby of mine: body contouring. 

I had been researching and practicing on myself for years after experiencing the side effects of motherhood. I remembered how well my family and friend circle received my hobby, especially when they started to see my own body results. I quickly realized I was a walking billboard for my business! I eventually went on to become a Certified Body Sculpting Technician, and the rest is my testimony to believing in yourself and fighting for what you want in life. I am currently studying to become a certified Life Coach and Nutritionist, so I may help my clients more holistically...Mind, Body and Soul!

For me, it was the freedom to have a purposeful life and live out my passions even if I lived with a disease. Corporate America said it wasn't possible. My Faith and Support Team decided it was! 

I aim to incorporate all of my learned knowledge—as an Artist, an Educator, an Athlete, a Mother, and a Black Woman—to help others achieve their goals in fitness and beyond.
